Does anyone know anything about Alaska Specialty Woods? Are they a reliable source?

If it is this one, http://www.alaskawoods.com/ I hear that they are reliable, but others will chime in.

That's the one Alex. I remember a while back that there was a tone wood supplier in Alaska that was not reliable and I want to make sure it's not this one....

That would be Brent Cole.
Always up front when I dealt with him and no issues ever.

The other Alaska woods company have changed their name to Celtic Tonewoods I believe.
I never dealt with them personally, so you would be best to check BBB or online reviews.
I've only heard good things about Brent. And with a name like Brent .......

Brent

Just so everyone knows. The guy[John McCray in Ketchikan, Alaska that had a couple websites and biz names running concurrently as AlaskaTonewoods and Last frontier Tonewoods, was shut down by the State a number of years ago, after numerous defrauded customers contacted the AK Dept of Commerce, Customer Protection Div.. Since then and a few years later, John has started another as someone has pointed out in this thread, as Celtic Tonewoods. He doesn't put his name out there for folks to see. Same guy, same nomenclature, but does have an apparent partner. Just so you know....

I've had good luck with him.

If you're looking for bracewood, I'd go with his split stock. I bought a box of his sawn stock because of the price but there's a lot of waste. No fault of his, just the nature of the beast. Lesson learned.
