Called in on a tonewood/wood dealer today and he had hide glue but it was powdered not granulated the granulated stuff he had was pearl glue, so there must be a difference all he said was hide glue was slightly stronger, but either would make a good guitar, he also used to be a luthier until the business grew to the point where it took over. Sorted me out some nice engelman spruce tops which were his lowest grade, as there were knots and different colouring or other peculiarities which were cosmetic I took my body template with me so I could work round these, and when I asked if he had hide glue and he had the powdered stuff, but can't get the granulated any more.

Well worth the visit
