For those that have built with cocoblo, do you thin the backs and side down because of cocobolo's density. If mahogany back and side is somewhere around .165" and .110 what are you building cocobolo at? Would Panamanian rosewood fall into the same group. I'm getting ready to resaw some and don't have a lot of room to spare 15/16" billet.

Hi Peter, my cocobolo back plates are usually around .090 and my sides at about .075 to .085.

IMHO you may want to resaw at .180" minimum for the back and maybe .120" for the sides so you can avoid possible defects, clean up, join and then thickness.
I usually thickness the back around .075", depending on how stiff and well quartered the set is. After clean-up the sides probably end up around .060".
