I have a guy whos talking to me about building him a guitar.

we've gone through a bunch of wood options and its LOOKING like maybe Tassie Balckwood, & Port Oxford cedar, but noting is anywhere NEAR decided yet.

I've worked with EI Rosewood, Maple, Walnut, Leopardwood, Granadillo, Mahogany & Oak.

is TBW harder to bend than any of them?

I've never had any in my hands before.....

Thanks!!

Bends pretty much just like Koa 300F-310f. Like with any wood the figure may play a role but I never had an issue Black Acacia. (Tas Blackwood). One thing I will suggest is that you bend it with very little added moisture and wrapped in kraft paper as aluminum foil can react with resins and stain the wood a green. this will almost always sand out but not using foil will eliminate most of it but you so need a buffer like kraft paper between the wood and slats.

OK then it will bend similar to bending something between Maple and IRW.

as far as the cutaway if the wood is figured you might want to use SuperSoftII a couple days in advance of the bend. It would not hurt to use it anyway
