Hi all, does anyone knows where to get white or cream celluloid binding for my Les Paul project? StewMac discontinued this a while ago and I just can find binding from ABS at the usual sources. Just the tortoise and pearloid I can find is from celluloid, but I need white and cream ... Thanks, Martin |

I've gotten white celluloid from Martin Guitar in PA. Give 'em a call. |

did you check LMI? I thought I got the last stuff from there. Be prepaired to pay $20 hazzmat... What year Les Paul? I think they used ABS from 68 forward...so unless its a 50's model, the abs might be ok. I used creme on the 72 I restored. Looked excellent. Joe |

Unfortunately it is a 59 LP and I want to get as close as possible, so I will have to use the vintage celluloid stuff ... Will check Martin, but I guess that the hazmat for shipping to Europe is more than 20$ additionally ... Last night I got in contact with a Asian manufactor for this and they are offering this in large (and long) sheets that can be shipped to Germany astonishing cheap via EMS, so I will get one and make the binding myself. I fear that Martin GC upcharge for "flamable stuff" a high rate - if they ship internationally anyway ... if I am right they even do not ship pearl and abalone products outside the US anymore (yes!)! If anyone is interested in celluloid binding feel free to pm me. Thanks again, Martin |

The URL is escaping me, but AIX has what you are looking for. I will pull the URL off my other computer later and post it. They have celluloid in all colors and lots of variations. It is expensive to ship (hazmat) but they are easy to work with and it is nice material. |

Do you mean Axiom Inc. ? http://axinc.net/storefront/c-11-cellul ... white.aspx They don´t have cream binding and unfortunately I am outside the US -> this means an estimated surcharge for Hazmat of 300 US$ (yes!!!) for international shipping ... I didn´t intend to buy the whole company ... Thanks anyway and best regards, Martin |
