Post subject: | acetone for cleaning wood? |
I know naptha has been reccomended for cleaning wood, i have a can of acetone in the basement , was reading the lable, and it says it is good for cleaning resin off of fiberglass, and it evaporates rapidly.has anyone tried it for cleaning wood before finishing ? thanks Jody |

Like lacquer thinner and denatured alcohol, acetone makes oily woods bleed. |

I use acryli-clean from ppg. It's a grease&WAX REMOVER.It has naphtha,heptane,and methylclohexane in it.I has worked great for me. |

on occassion I use it to wash oily wood like coco before joining or sanding say a day before or so. |
