Post subject:  Gobson J-200 help

Hello all,
I have built several solid body electric guitars and I am going to give an acoustic a try. I would really like to build something as close as I can to a Gibson J-200. I have seen a few websites that mention plans for a J-200. Does anybody know where I can fing a good quality set of plans for the J-200. Also, can anybody recomend and books or websites specifically for acoustic building. Information on the internet on bracing seems to be very limited, and what about tap tuning.
Thanks in advance

Hi Travis

Welcome to the OLF.

I got my 'gobson' ;) j200 plans from LMI.
Some books I've found pretty helpful are:

'Build your own Acoustic guitar' by Jonathon Kinkead
'Guitar Making, tradition & technology' by William Cumpiano
'Guitar making (step by step)' by Alex Willis

Anything else you need to know about bracing and tuning etc etc you can find here in the 'Archives'. Just type your subject into the 'search' and you'll get all of the info your after from all the expert builders that use this forum.

Good luck [:Y:]

John Mayes has his videos for sale at a discount right now in the OLF auction. There should be enough information there for you and he's a great guy also. [:Y:]
