Hello all,
I see where you can get veneer that has been pressure dyed so the color goes all the way through.....I think it is maple that has been died to look like ebony.....or other colors. I was wondering if there existed thicker woods that have been dyed like this. For instance is there a supplyer that would have a spruce sound board pressure dyed black so the color goes all the way through?

Thanks

Try B&B rare woods. (Their stuff is .6 mm thick)

Or LMI. (Both .3mm and .6 mm)

Can't vouch for the permanence of the colors. I purchased some of their white veneer, .3 mm, and dyed it
with acrylic paint. If you want it thicker, laminate it. Acrylic paints use dyes, and if you mix a little detergent with it, it takes to the wood pretty well. Artist paint is fairly light-fast and you can get exactly what you want.

Get the Golden paints in the bottle, not the tube.
