I hope not Danny, but its happened before. I can see shipping being a problem. But for that kind of money, wouldn't you want to see the boards in person and then drive them home? Hope you are enjoying the holidays. |

They had a piece of this stuff at my local store. They wanted $1200 for a not very big piece. I'm always amazed what Rockler thinks they can sell so-so pieces of exotic lumber for. They had a nice piece of figured Ziricote that could get maybe 2 fingerboards out of...$50!!! I flip it over and the there are cracks all over the place. Thinner pieces that didn't have good figure and would yield one FB they wanted $30+ for. No wonder this stuff dosnt turn over. I need to find a local lumber shop that is realistically priced. I'm sticking with our sponsors for now. |

Zach, you can always count on our sponsors to find great wood for us and that it will be top quality. If its isn't, they tell you up front that it's student grade so that you don't get blind sided. I'm always more comfortable dealing with our sponsors. |

My local Rockler store in Torrance CA has a fantastic looking piece of bubinga that would make one heck of a table if I was rich.  In fact, I think it looks better than most of the photos. Philip |

I read somewhere that bubinga isn't really all that rare (I use them all the time on my builds because they're cheap) and huge wide logs are really common... so not sure if I'd justify that kind of prices... |

I like to try and buy bulk. one great supplier on the east coast is World Timber out of NC. They are cool to work with, have good stuff and also supply PRS and Martin. |

I still have lots but they have spectacular figure so aren't cheap. This board was A LOT more money than those advertised, although it is also a fair bit larger! Shane |

You know having done my first guitar in bubinga I have to say it looks a lot better than its price. I got mines from LMI but I was wondering seeing how everyone seems to offer extreme figure bubinga at rather outrageous price, does anyone offer something with a little bit of figure at a better price than LMI (around $60-80 a set is good for me)? They seem to be out of stock of "figured" bubinga for a long time and all they got is extreme figured stuff... |
