Is anyone attending SS guitar top construction class at Highland Woodworking in Atlanta? It's Feb 27-28 and sounds like fun. I plan to attend as I'm currently doing my first one and it will be interesting to see how I should have done it. Rene http://www.highlandwoodworking.com/Cons ... ukler.aspx |

Great resource. I wish there was something similar (two day courses) in the New York area. |

I'm about 30 miles south of Highland Hardware. Next payday, I'll join up for the class. I have been to a few classes like this, but it's always fun. This will be the first time with an instructor who doesn't build modern fingerstyle guitars - Ivon Schmukler is a Martin restorer, so it will be interesting to see what he does different. I'd love to pick his brain on the differences between prewar steel strings vs. their modern counterparts. $150 for two days of instruction is a great deal anywhere. I hope to see a bunch of us OLFers there. |

Hi Tony and John, It's great that you're coming to the class, I'm looking forward to it and to meeting you. BTW, It's Highland Woodworking, I don't know where I got "Highland Hardware". Rene |

Rene, For those of us "ole timers" that have been in the area a while, the store in the Atlanta "Virgina Highlands" area was called "Highland Hardware" for the longest time (still had great stuff). With the internet and market postioning, it morphed into "Highland Woodworking". We just can't get the old name out of our minds... See ya, Tony |
