not ukes, but for my mandos I use an artec split saddle piezo and remove the 2 string section (I now have a bag of them..... MIGHT just have a use for 'em some day!!) |

The K&K twin dot works great for zooks & mados. Should be equally great for the uke. |

If you plan on using a Fishman, they make a 2" version of their Matrix (you won't find at SM or LMI). The absolute best pickup I've heard in an `ukulele was a D-TAR - gotta talk to Rick about that one. MiSi is getting to be extremely popular, mostly because `ukulele players complain that a 9V battery is too heavy. Sounds more like a Fishman than a Baggs, with the familiar "quack" that some are craving. Personally, I use an LR Baggs Element. Note that MiSi uses the Element portion from Baggs. If you contact Baggs directly (not sure if they retail), they now stock an `ukulele version of the Element Active, with a shortened Element, Battery and Volume control to fit inside a Tenor (or smaller) without modification. I used to order them detached and installed them to my own length - not necessary anymore. Installed with a back angle on the saddle, and you'll have an "uneventful installation". Nylon version for `ukulele, of course. Aaron |
