Hey, I got a log of that ebay stuff...
Eighteen bucks a strip? Hmmm...anyone want some? laughing6-hehe

Actually, aside from some plain Honduras or Cuban, I've rationalized about all the exotic I can handle. Buy a few red spruce tops when I see compression and wide grain, but that's about it.

Chris -

Keep the faith, man.

Yesterday I took a two hour detour to stop in at my favorite luberyard to see what offcuts they'd accumulated in the past three weeks. I think I've got more wood than I can use to build for a very long time....but that's not the point, is it?

Besides, think of how much money I'm saving...(at least that's what I tell my wife) idunno

My wife teases me about this.... At my current building rate -- I have approximately 50 years worth of Tops.... and that doesn't count backs, sides, and raw lumber I am planning to resaw and make into guitars someday...

On the positive side... I decided to purge my supplies of pallet runners and other nail holey, low quality crap wood (Well.. Mostly... Not all of it could go..) .... There is enough free wood to be had without resorting to making a 12-pc back dread!

Of course... Offsetting those few boards -- I have the 4' tall pile of Red Oak "Billets" out of that 1-stump that will someday turn into at least 1-guitar....

I swear I am not a hoarder! Get that TV camera away from me!

Thanks

John

Don't worry about it walking off...I buried it in the backyard. Should be fine...wrapped it in plastic...put some drain holes on the bottom to keep things dry.

I hear spaulted snake wood is really cool.
