I found myself a little zoot at the local wood store today. My wife wasn't there to give me the okay, but I figured this one was worth getting in trouble for. It is a 14" wide and about 8' long piece of highly figured claro walnut. It was priced low ($75) becuase of some knots. But those are easily avoidable. I figure I can get at least two highly figured sets out of this, mabe a set or two of not so figured stuff, and a bunch of extras.

Anyone else score any zoot lately? Let's see it...

Beautiful score! I love walnut like that.

if you have extra left over around the knots, I might be willing to take it off you hands for some solidbody tops...

Ian, the guitar in my pic is a sinker redwood/macassar ebony. It is hard to find that nice of sinker, though http://www.luthierscooltools.com sometimes has it in stock.
