There is at least one person on this board who has a workshop every bit as clean as that, if not cleaner, but his is also much more pleasing to the eye with nice paint and various decorative objects here and there. Folks, you only get one guess on this one. |

As long as my immediate work surface is clean, I'm happy. If I'm just going to make another pile of wood chips soon anyway, it doesn't seem to make sense going and cleaning up the old one

Hesh has one !! Mine is knee deep in tools ,shavings,woods,guitarcases-etc...... And a cushy chair to relax in & sip some wine ! Mike

Also he did say he was a hobbyist. I do woodworking for a living and so far no one has paid me to clean my shop. The impressive thing about Hesh is he actually does work in that shop of his and still keeps it spotless. His work is pretty spotless too. I have tried but I just can't do it. It lasts for a while and then I work late one night and am too tired to clean up and before you know it, chaos. ![[headinwall]](./images/smilies/headbangwalluf8.gif "Mad") My shop makes Haan's shop look like a hospital operating room. If you want to clean your shop, have a flood, mine is the cleanest and most organized it has ever been after the 8" of water and sewage on the floor. I am sure it will revert back to where it was before, but I will try to be a little more diligent with the shop vac and broom. My trouble is I get so into building I hate to stop and clean up, I wish I could be a Hesh or Filippo but I guess I don't have it in me. Fred |

Its all about the work. If the work isn't getting done, and done well, I don't give a hoot about how tidy and organized the shop is. I can't tell you how many times I read through the woodworking magazines special workshop issues, see might impressive workshops,and then I look at the photos of their woodworking. I heave a big sigh and slump in my chair. All that shop space, all those tools, for that!? My shop isn't sterile clean, equipped with furniture grade cabinetry, or extensive tooling, but it is organized and has achieved an operational efficiency. LOTS of work gets done, and done well. Bottom line. |
