Hi folks a while back I posted some pics of a fcouple of my good friend Mike Collin's guitars "in progress" I recently had the good fourtune to not only see the finished guitars but I was lucky enough to play them as well!
I may a bit biased since I own three of Mikes guitars but, believe me...these guitars play as good as they look and sound incredible! [:Y:]
I took a few pics the other day..sorry I did not bother to crop all the pics
only so much time these days between work and playing gigs!
I'll let Mike chime in and tell you more about them but, untill then
...here are a few Thumbnails for you all to click on :D

These guitars were ordered by the same client!
Also he asked if he could help with the building process.
So I let him help me at every phase of the construction .
I made sure he was happy with his work & I left it there.
I just made sure it was good for tone & stability !!
I did nothing to cover little mistakes -etc...

He paid me well & got two great sounding guitars with the
experience of working on them himself!

Plus they're totally different guitars.
One is Salvaged Cedar & Hormigo(Zootman) with a raised f.b. & radial bracing & 5 soundports!
The other is a "Hauser" copy with a sinker Redwood top and Ebony B&Sides.
He as I and others that have heard & played them like them both !
It was a challence to do both at the same time & have a never worked with wood student(client) helpout !
Plus he wanted the thin-satin finish-which I like also
Mike ;)

Beautiful guitars for sure. How does the sinker Redwood classical sound?

George;
the sinker redwood guitar sounds great!
loud,balanced &clear.
And it's developing quickly.
I'm amazed with it.
the top ended up being 2.4mm center to 1.9mm edges
Hauser/Torres 7 fan layout .
braces 3mm high x 4mm wide
1mm bridge patch.
2 cutoff bars 3mmx3mm
