Well, I got #8 strung up and took it for a test drive. bliss
I had previously posted that #8 was verrrrry experimental.... :D
I had yet to finish #7, a standard, fwd-x braced 13-fret cutaway, when I started #8, using a bracing pattern that used a double-x brace in place of the regular two tone bars.
I thought if I kept these two braces very light - 5mm x 5mm, the lower bout might resonate more...
The wise responders to my post hypothesized that they thought it might end up sounding "tight"
And they were correct..... duh
I kept the builds as close as possible to each other in terms of woods and dimensions.
The double-x braced guitar has a much thinner sound than the standard-braced guitar.
Now I know!
Here they are:

I am in the middle of a similar thing with this guitar and a regular braced twin will let you know.
Different X bracing tho

Hi

Nice work, do you work to a plan for these guitars and if so is it available ?

Robbie, one thing is that the braces are maybe not scalloped enough towards the main X. From the pic I see they are 1/4 high at the intersection, I would have feathered them down completely. Also the 4 other ends, that face the bottom, could have had a longer taper, maybe even starting from the X intersections.
