Hi all,

Just thought I would mention how my guitars are doing that I sprayed with EM6000. I finished them in May of 09, and as of today they look like the day I buffed them out. One of the guitars is my daily player, and another I have been using as a demo and has been played quite a bit by a bunch of different people. Other than some scratches from something metal, they all still have a nice shine and I cannot see any shrinkage. My schedule was.

1: Shellac
2: Target Coatings Pore filler (a lot)
3: Shellac
4: 12 coats of clear, 6 per day for 2 days with sanding between.

Wet sanded with mineral spirits up to 2000 grit
Buffed medium-extra fine.

These are all electric guitars, African Mahogany with figured maple top.
I was a little disappointed with the pore filler as there was some shrinking into the grain of the Mahogany right away, but when compared to a couple of Gibsons and Fenders with Nitro and my Carvin acoustic with ??? finishes I actually had less shrinking into the grain. But as mentioned above it has not shrunk any more with time and is holding up really well. Oh, also no blue tint that I can tell.

I've also got a walnut/sitka acoustic that I finished last July. It's my daily player and it still looks great even after a few outings on stage in the heat and humidity. My schedule is very similar except I didn't pore fill, I just sealed with shellac and shot about 15 coats on the walnut parts idunno So far it seems to have worked just fine.

I will add my experience as well. I have shot six guitars with EM6000 over the past couple of years. To my knowledge all are holding up great! The first I sprayed has seen a fair amount of use and gigged several times. No visible issues at all. I only have two others still with me, and those too are holding up great.

Love the stuff!

Ken
