Am planning a new build with spruce top and Ziricote B&S. Looking for opinions on binding choices for same. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks Much!

1) ebony
2) off cuts from sides
3) a little bit harder to come by, but i just got some waterfall bubinga sapwood binding and the match of color to the ziricote set i have is really awesome.

Offcuts from the sides look good if you use lighter purfs to set them off. This isn't Zircote, but it's dark on dark sides and binding.

I just used some bloodwood (with maple/mahogany purfs) to bind a maple/cedar. Bending was hard but it looks great. A guitar repair guy said that the bloodwood is like cocobolo (resinous) and would need to be glued with epoxy. I didn't seem to have (or appear to see any issues) with glue adherence. I do have gaps, but that's user error, not glue error.

Thoughts?

I just finished a guitar that used Bocote for binding. It gives a lovely tortoise shell kind of look. It bends well, too. The only caveat with using it is that the changing tones can blend in with the body wood if you also use it for the purfling lines.

...or, if you want a lot of contrast, perhaps something like this? This is curly ash, but I'm afraid the figure in the wood doesn't show to well in the picture.

Movingui :) I think the slight greenish hue of both would match nicely.

But if you can't find that, then African blackwood/ebony with maple side purf would do.

I've used Ziricote offcuts. It bent irregularly so I used greenish EIR for the next Ziricote guitar.

My last flamenco build was a negra with EIR B&S and bloodwood binding. I used LMI white and had no problems whatsoever...
