I am going to order this. I'll let you know what I think. Caswell also sells arbor shaft extender kits for $11 per side. Extends each arbor by 6 1/2".

I have it and the machine is good. But I think the buffs are not what works, cause as is I cab't polish nuttin even with the Menzerna compounds. But that's the wheels, not the machine. Others use it successfully. Good to know of the arbor extenders.

Meddling
Thanks for the comments on the buffs. Any recommendations in that regard?

Thanks Dave. I've thought about that machine. Didn't know about the longer shafts.

Grizzly buffs are doing fine for me. The softest, which I think is domet.

[edit] I found the shaft extenders. Not as heavy duty looking as I thought; I had hope you could just get a longer 3/4" shaft on the machine. The big buffs have larger than 1/2" holes and will need adaptors. Not a huge deal, but the ones I made (for the ShopFox) have a way of working loose.

I use the grizzly shop fox buffing set up with 1/4 hp. This is plenty of power .

That's the buffing machine I use. I didn't buy the kit, just the buffer. I use buffing wheels from Grizzly. The shafts seem long enough to me, but I'm used to them.
