I really want to use the LMI friction pegs for my first classical build, but I'm too cheap (I mean frugal ![]() |

Not sure what others think, but at $40.50 especially if sharing postage with pegs (++)? from LMI it sounds like an absolute steal to me. It's cheaper than a bridge pin reamer! |

Brian, you want to get a good, sharp reamer. A dull and/or cheap reamer will not ream perfectly round holes, which will make tuning with the pegs a chore if not an impossibility. Besides, you want the exact same taper on your pegs as on your reamer. An alternative is to buy a set of 4:1 Pegheds, much easier to install, and of course, to tune. |

Thanks, I guess it only hurts for a minute to buy the reamer. Laurent, I really like the peg heads, but would rather put the extra money towards my future B-2 ![]() |

Brian, Having done lots of violin repairs in the past, having a pair of tools, the peg cutter, and the peg hole reamer, a matched set, is vital to a well-fitted, well-working peg. Is there a possibility of borrowing these tools for your one flamenco guitar? PM me... Dave. |
