Cutting some braces from billets. Thats about all I can do this weekend. Need to borrow my friends thickness sander to thickness a top and back I joined this week before I can do much more in my shop. So the rest of today will be spent doing honey do's. Tonight, BBQ at a friends house!!! ![]() |

Completed some traditional type rosettes. This is something I started working a few months ago - wanting to refine my process and techniques. The top one is from a design by Arcangel Fernandez and he bottom one by Daniel Friedrich. Max |

I've got a few things going on. First up is a quickie drop-top on a yamaha strat copy: Attachment: 248599_217510431601906_121250467894570_857250_4396922_n.jpg Attachment: 250872_217510454935237_121250467894570_857252_7666652_n.jpg Next are a couple of new body molds for my next two builds, a new shape derived from Taylor's Grand Concert, but considerably different: Attachment: 249763_217510471601902_121250467894570_857253_7067038_n.jpg And the other is based on an 1860's Martin 2 1/2-24: Attachment: 230032_217510484935234_121250467894570_857254_6091723_n.jpg Here's a '72 Martin flattop mandolin I did a retop on a while back. It's back in the shop for the nitro, which will be tinted to approach the color of the original: Attachment: 230729_217515558268060_121250467894570_857349_4558516_n.jpg Attachment: 250300_217515571601392_121250467894570_857350_8323577_n.jpg And last, here's a couple of crummy shots of my koa/red spruce GA cutaway I finally put the finishing touches on (endpin, pickguard, final setup). Sounds lovely! Attachment: 250258_217510511601898_121250467894570_857256_7717165_n.jpg

I finished my HVLP sprayer. It's got a 4 stage Ametek-Lamb turbine. I won't be able to do any spraying until I can get a hvlp spray gun ![]() Disclaimer: Any resemblence to an Apollo 1035 unit is strictly intentional. Attachment: HVLP Sprayer.jpg

Love that bridge Steve!! Coincidentally, I'm building a nylon string crossover at the moment too...small world! The big thing that happened in my workshop this weekend was the arrival of my new ShopBot machine: Attachment: IMG_1089s.jpg I have to rearrange the workshop to make proper space for it, plus I've got a LOT of learning ahead of me.....should all be fun though! ![]() Cheers, Dave F. |
