Looks yummy to me! I've been bending by "feel" and it has worked for me...but I really like the idea of the thermocouple and precise temperatures...what say ye?

There are many OLF'ers who have built their own PID controllers, but I'm not handy with electronics so I bought the LMI model. I had been using the old dimmer switch device, also from LMI, and after bending just one side I put that controller up in the attic. Being able to accurately hold a temperature while the side sets makes a huge difference. If you feel comfortable building your own, that's the route to go, but either way you won't regret having one.

here is a picture of mine...simple and very accurate...pid and 20 amp SSR off of ebay for about 50 bucks , and a mechanical timer, using a thermocouple with the end cut off and the wires twisted together....search the forum, Fred Tellier has some good info...easy to make

I built my own PID controller, but for $160, I'd probably have bought the LMI
controller if they had it then. You can build your own for right around $100
though, and the threads Wes mentions have all the details.

I bought one and like it a lot. I wish it had a shut-off timer built in but you can put one on the power cord.

I build almost all my own jigs but I liked the price for the LMI version so I bought it.

Thanks guys! I was thinking that when LMI offers a ready-to-go product for the price of this thing, I'd rather save myself the time and energy and just buy the shiny one! [:Y:]
