Post subject:  Binding Channel Bit
I cam never keep it straight... But my binding channel and bearings are the ones without the brass offset spacer. LMI? Stew-Mac? Anyways, I want a new bit. Are these standardized? Get from other sources? Less cost?

I forgot where I got them. Bought miniature carbide end mills 1/16in 3/32in and 1/8in with 1/4in shanks to fit a standard laminate collett. Try googling miniature carbide end mills??

OK, so I have the LMI. And you are saying that the LMI is better than most vendors at a reasonable cost?

BTW, does anybody make a rabbeting bit that can be used to cut a two sided channel? The LMI bit is only good for one sided channels... and yes, this particular question has nothing to do with guitars.

I have Lmi , Stew Mac and a set from Grizzly . I like the LMI . The cutter holds up better. The stew mac dulls up too fast and Grizzly is used when I do wood and tweener sized binding.
Also copper tape that is used for tiffani style glass work makes for a great shim on odd sized purflings .
