does anyone know where I can get one for my bosch colt? or plans on to make one? [uncle]

I made the Wells-Karol jig from Chris Paulick's U-tube video and it was very easy. After finding the parts to make it with, It might have taken an hour to build.

I agree with James, the jig is very easy to make. I watched Chris's youtube videos (there are three for the jig) and just went for it. It may have taken me a couple of hours, I don't remember, but I'm only into it for about $4. I modified mine for a Bosch colt, and made it slightly narrower than Chris's, and also enlarged the hole in the base.

+1 for making one using Chris Paulicks YouTube vids. They are easy and inexpensive to make. I just finished mine yesterday.

Make the jig. It is quite easy to do. The cost of materials is a small fraction of what it will cost you to purchase and it will work just as well.

I made one for my colt out of wood. But that base looks really nice. I may have to make one of those.

I would love to buy one. Even after watching the video I don't think I could do a good job making one. If anyone is making a batch, sign me up for one. :)

Rod True was building some of the Karol bases at one time. I liked his as he was using plexi or polycarb instead of UHMW . Try and PM Rod.

Tap plastics sells cutting board material that I used,
and it works well.
I don't remember what it's called,
because I don't remember much anymore.........

UHHW or something like that. I just don't like the way that stuff machines but that's just me. You can use wood or whatever and custom build it to your router's size. You can also 180 the pivot section for larger holes.

Thanks Chris for the plug. I don't have time to build any jigs right now though.

As Todd mentioned, delrin would really be the best to make these out of.

Delrin is good if it's in ones budget.
Todd, I'm pretty sure I saw a pic of one of yours that was Delrin if I'm not mistaken.

Bishop Cochran's router base is really nice for cutting rosettes. Get the small hole attachment if you get one. I have one for a porter cable router.

Polyethylene, and you can get scraps pretty cheaply.

.....Really ???........ If you think you are going to make a guitar or have made one I think this router jig is with in reach. Make a quick one out of scrap wood if you are having trouble wrapping your head around it. Just make it quick and dirty as a practice. The next one will be very easy to make one. Cutting board plastic is very easy to machine with woodworking tools and can be found at Tap plastics as scrap pieces or you can use muti-ply plywood. Any cabinet shop will have scrap 1/2" muti-ply around. It's called
Apple ply, or Baltic birch.
Give it a try, it doesn't have to be perfect, it just holds a pin to pivot the router around.

The Wells Karol style jig has the advantage of the screw adjustment allowing for small changes in channel width, where most of the others do not have this important feature.

if money is no object, I second the Bishop Cochran jig. They aren't cheap, but they are very well made.

He's made a bunch of options available, including the fancy new dremel tools.
