Just started to FP an Englemann Spruce and EIR back and side classical guitar with U-Beaut hard shellac. This is my first experiance with U-Beaut. So far I am happy with the way it builds up. |

Just glued up two tops and now working on their rosettes. Also finished moving to a new place so the hasstle is over, now back to building!

I need to do touch up work on the finish and setup of this one: Attachment: P1010009.JPG This is the 73 Romanillos pattern, but a cedar top. EIR backs and sides. The owner will not be picking it up until November, so I will tweak the finish before taking final pictures and get a recording made. I'll wait to say more until then. I hope to get the box assembled on a second Romanillos clone this weekend. working on dentallones today. This one is Shane's Lutz with Palo Escrito B&S. |

 Trying out my new mold. I am kinda new to side bending. Hopefully this will soon be a hollow 8 string headless jazz guitar. I took these sides down to 2mm. |

Chris Pile stopped by the shop. We had a nice visit, looking through his photo album I was surprised to see a Ralph Smith 6 string he had worked on at one time. We'll have to get together again some time Chris, thanks for coming by. |

Some great looking guitars coming together folks! Very nice indeed! Bent bindings and purflings this morning for my koa L-00 and eir 000. Afterwards I routed binding and purflings channels. Real time saver to do two at a time. Stopped there and am now watching my alma mater, BYU, struggle against Ole Miss. Ken |

I'm real pleased to see some archtops out there. They are my truest passion. But seeing pics of these other guitars makes me wonder why I even dabble in this hobby. You guys are such great craftsmen! Okay, what I'm doing this weekend is making a Longworth lathe chuck, so I can spin and true up a rim pot for a tenor banjo that I am scratch building. Okay, okay, I know.....A BANJO?!....yes, it's true. I have a jazz ensemble that occasionally plays a few real old tunes, and I thought it would be fun to double on a tenor banjo. But I promise I will wash my hands after playing it. Patrick |

Just messed around with my #1 classical fingerboard. Twice. First, he double-sided that was holding my fingerboard on the template splipped when half the job was done. There weren't any way to be sure to reposition the fingerboard exactly on the same axis it was. So I filled the slots with black veneer and CA glue, flushed it, turn the FB over and redo the whole slotting process. Then, I cut the FB widht at 2 7/32 instead of 2 7/16 at the 12th fret. I'll have to put bindings on it. Not a good day. |

You've always got some good stuff working Filippo. And Steve, your stuff gets better and better every time I see it. I've gotten quite a bit accomplished so far this weekend... including my first set back. I'd gotten my TR channel routed and my fb glued on last night. All I was going to do today was to trim the excess off the fb and thickness my headstock. Well, I proceeded to take the headstock excess off the BACK of the headstock ![[headinwall]](./images/smilies/headbangwalluf8.gif "Mad") . You can read about my misadventures in the electric guitar section. I was actually quite proud of how I recovered, though. I only had a fleeting thought of smashing it into bits  . I'm back on track to start carving tomorrow, which is something I'm really looking forward to.

I have been working on my website and my YouTube channel for the past couple weeks now, and it's been taking up a lot of my time. I let it be for so long that when I looked up I had 6-7 guitars to add to the gallery section. I've also been working on an article database to help out guitar makers who are still learning. I'm still filling it as I get time, but it contains things that I think are useful to know about guitar making, as well as some jigs I use, and what not. I have learned so much from books and the internet that I thought it right to do my own part to help people as I was helped. www.sixgunguitars.com |

I will be completing my Troji guitar vice and working on the peghead inlay on my fan fret Jumbo today. Both of my current builds should be ready for pore filling by the end of the weekend. |
