Anyone here using the LMI temperature controller???

I wondering why they didn't add a timer - and do you think it could be routed through some type of inline timer much like the one that came with my Blue's Creek bending machine? (minus the temperature control)

I have the LMI bender and temp controller. I see no reason why you cant use a timer. I do not, but I never leave the bender while it is on. I am planning on getting one soon since I have a few sets to bend very soon.

I thought a long time before adding a timer to mine. I knew if I had one, I'd be more likely to rely on it to shut off the heat. A failure of the timer could burn the shop down. So when I made one, I wired 2 timers in series. I use it between the heating blanket and the controller. I figured one might fail but the chance of both failing was pretty darn small.

Great tool so far, by the way.

Kent,

I am actually worried that I would get distracted (no.... that never happens gaah ) and burn down my house WITHOUT a timer. I am considering a timer to prevent that.

Two timers..... now THAT sounds like ME!

Thanks

The timer is one heck of a safety device. While I do have timer control units , if you need the timers , I will be happy to get you them . You need to do a simple wire in . Email me if you need one and we will help .

A timer is a good idea (and two timers an even better idea).....but I've got a sign on my bender that says BLANKET IS ON. I hang this sign on my door whenever I turn my blanket on. I've also got "glue pot is on" and "air compressor is on" signs I put on my door when they're in use.
