Post subject:  Choice of dehumidifier?

Hi all,

I'd like to ask what make of dehumidifier forum members have in their shops.
To narrow things down, I'd be looking at models available in North America.

I figure since humidity is a concern for serious guitar makers, there would be some pretty informed choices. I also figured there'd also be some makes/models to steer clear of.

Thanks all,
Jake.

+1 on Soleus.
5 years and counting, & it's quiet.
On the Gulf Coast where I live, average 80% RH, it keeps my shop at 40%

I have a portable Danby unit. It does a great job, but despite their claims, it is not a good cold weather unit. Tends to freeze up below 62 degrees F.

My basement is 2400 SF and I could not manage the RH until I got one of these Sante Fe dehumidifiers. It rocks! Quiet, energy star rated and my whole basement stays at 49% and it rarely runs now after the initial "drying out" which took about a week.

Large Soleus as well. Works well, although if I don't hook up the drain (haven't yet) it won't max it's gpd capability without emptying it a couple times during the more humid months.
