I thought I read somewhere here that someone uses Dee Glue Goo on their lacquer finishes after glueing on their bridges. Is it safe on oil varnish finishes? This part of my build is very stressful, and it's where I have a decent build and mess it all up ! ![]() ![]() |

I've never tried it, as I've never used a varnish finish, but regardless of the answers you get here, you should test it on a piece of scrap. Someone elses experience may differ from yours (different varnish, etc...) and the only way to be certain is to test it on your finish. |

I have never had any trouble with good quality painter's masking tape on a varnish finish once the varnish is good and dry.... I suppose you could always test on scrap to find out whether dee glue goo is safe to use on YOUR particular varnish.... Thanks |

Todd's correct. De glue goo is safe for varnish. I'm a "varnisher" so I thought I'd confirm Todds statement. |

Thank you for your replies. Woody-thought I let you know that I tried Sherwin Williams after reading your post, love the look! It's given me the best finish of all the varnishes I've tried to date. Thanks for suggestion! Clinton |
