I'm at that point in the process that drives me absolutely nuts, and wanting to check out my finishing options.

Are any of you aware of people in Canada who do custom guitar finishing? Or do any of you Canadians have experience sending your guitars to some of the well known finishers south of the border?

Thanks for any help you can offer.

Phil

You might want to contact Joseph Yanuziello ... not 100% sure if he's taking in outside finishing work at the moment but I believe he has in the past and his work is top notch to say the least.

Thanks David. Exactly the kind of lead I'm looking for.
Any others out there?

Doesn't Joshua House take in outside finishing work? You can contact him through the Canadian Luthier Supply link listed with the OLF sponsors.

Rob Bustos of Paragon Guitars has taken on outside finishing work in the past as well. www.paragonguitars.com is the place to find him. He is in Vancouver, BC.

Alternatively, have you contacted any custom automotive finishers? I know of one that is working with a luthier at this time, doing his instruments. I don't know how much he is charging, but the luthier is very impressed with the quality of finish.

Just to clarify, Woody is right that I have finished guitars for other builders in the past, but I'm no longer doing that. As a result of the tornado that hit town last year I lost access to the location where I had done my spraying. Since then I've had a hard time finding a place to spray my own guitars.
