I make a regular visit to 2 or 3 websites that offer some really great wood.

RC Tonewoods is one I check almost every day.

I also enjoy the "Figure So Fine" section of the Hibdon website.

So.... if you're willing to share, where do you go to get your daily fix of great looking wood?

I check my local sawyer ,he has the best deals on local hdwd.IMHO luthier wood always translates into mega $$$$$, caveat emptor, including our own classifieds , where folks are always asking way more than even the luthier suppliers are selling for .When I shop for exotics ,I go through the bins of my local cabinet shop exotic hdwd store much much more reasonable.Being frugal helps.

I visit Uncle Bob's at least twice a week and also Steve at Colonial. Those two are my favorites. I really like how easy it is to navigate Colonial's site and Steve updates pretty often so there is always some new deals. Gilmer is fun but I doubt I'd ever buy there because most of the best stuff seems to be in billet form and I have no way to re-saw. Notable and Hibdon at least once or twice a month. I even check e-bay but what little wood I've bought on e-bay was not good unless it was Bob's (RC Tonewoods)

Paul , consider asking a local cabinet shop where do they get their hdwds from?. Woodmaster tools here in KC sells small portable sawmills around the world.Check ,locally to see if you can find a local sawyer.I found mine on craigslist selling hardwoods . Most of the other ads were for flooring.

We have tons of hardwood available locally if you are looking for oak, cherry and a little soft maple. [xx(]

I like dreaming at Allied too, since they post pics of sets, and all the other ones mentioned above. I can't help checking certain OLF'ers who sell on ebay as well.....which is why I have too much wood. gaah
