How high of a grit do you guys sand your fretboards? Do you apply anything on it after fretting?

I usually sand to 600. Watco oil on OOOO steel wool to finish off after fretting. Then a final polish on the frets, while the Watco oil is still wet. Apply one last coat of oil, wait a while and hand buff with a soft rag.

I like to sand all the way up to 2000 with ebony, then buff with Mez medium. Really polishes it up.
