I like it without any stain.

Fresh cut mahogany is usually pretty light colored. Though it does darken some on exposure, many of the mahogany guitars you see are stained.

Not sure whether or not you mean light as in weight or color.. but as John Arnold says, it is light colored when freshly cut.. and it also produces a light guitar, weight wise..Mahogany with no stain will darken up considerably to a beautiful rich brown. Honduras mahogany is one of my favorite back and side woods.. you won't be disappointed

Here's a recent one of mine. I got the mahogany on the cheap locally. I've gotten a couple of back sets, several flatsawn side sets, and several two-piece, quartersawn necks from it so far. I love mahogany! Best bang for the buck I know. A million D-18's can't be wrong...

You can get pretty figured mahogany. This has just zpoxy and em6000

Great, rich look Ken...what did you use?
John, do you (or anyone) shellac between zpoxy & Em6000 or does it provide enough adhesion alone??

I have done both: shellac between the zpoxy and em6000, and em6000 straight on to zpoxy. I have had no problems, but the oldest of my finishes with em6000 straight on zpoxy is only about 1 year.

I mainly use shellac when I want just a bit more amber than the zpoxy gives me.

Damned CITES rule, no source for honduran mahogany in Taiwan and CITES means that no one can ship it to me.

I like to pore fill with black to darken it up some.
This one had a Lutz top and is my favorite sounding spruce topped guitar I have made.

Here's an OM with plain Honduran finished with Nitro. That's how I've done all mine so far.
