So I gave it a good thinking over and searched and searched the archives but it's late now and I give up so here's my dumb question: How am I going to slide the dovetail neck down into the body mortice when the dang truss rod is sticking out of the neck and in the way? The only thing I can think of is to route a slot into the sound board and neck block. Is that right? How hard is it and does anyone have pictures or a method? Seems like I can't just drill a hole in the block and poke the rod in like a M/T joint. I haven't tried it yet, I'm just getting acquainted with my neck jig. |

Yes thats it. Cut a slot in the top and block. I don't have my own pic so here is a link to Kenneth Michael Guitars. He shows a pic of this. Scroll down...Mike Forgot the link here it is. http://www.kennethmichaelguitars.com/trussrodnotch.html |
