The grain's at about 30° to the face. Is it usable or should I find something else? |

What type of wood is it ? If Honduras mahogany or Spanish ceder, it should be OK. Anything else I would think twice |

Sometimes rift sawn wood can be stable depending on species an age of wood. |

On something as thick and small as a headstock, rift or even flat sawn makes little difference. |

One of the great unique things about mahogany is that shrinkage rates are about the same in the radial and tangential directions, so dimensional stability is not a concern. |
