are spanish heels ever implemented in electric arch top guitars? if not, why? just wondering. someday i'd like to build a hollowbody....doesn't have to be a copy of anything, it just needs to sound like a hollowbody |

based on lack of reply, i'm getting the feeling this is a really, really stupid question(probable), or a darn good question(doubtful). ![]() i just know i lack the tools/skill/precision for a nice dovetail at this point, so i was wondering about the spanish heel, thats all. i hope to try my first spanish heel nylon string sometime after the holidays something tells me spanish heel is only suitable for the low tensions of gut/nylon..... |

Nothing wrong with doing it on an archtop, since neck resets are relatively rare. However, if a dovetail is not an option, I would prefer a bolt-on. An Allen bolt can be used. It can be tightened by reaching though the end pin hole with a long Allen wrench. |

I second the bolt-on option. Dave Stewart did a tutorial in the jig & fixture section. |

As long as you don't foresee any construction difficulties, I don't see why not. I'm not that familiar with electric archtop construction methods, but I can't think of any. |
