Looking for some information on which Martin models got which back strip: zipper, black checker, white checker. Were there others? Time frames?

The modern backstrips are a bit different from the old original. I do a lot of restoration and conversions. I do get the old stuff remade. The difference on the zipper strip is that the modern stuff has a white separator between the cells. The 28 checker went through a few size changes and the 45 also had the mosaic changed in size.
The old stuff can be rather intriguing with so many different chevrons . The typical Martin modern is
18 series simple black thin strip
28 can be the checker or the zipper
35 uses a maple black maple
40 uses the multi color back

the herringbone of today is noticeably different . Martin uses 2 styles bold and thin. The old stuff was more in between the modern stuff.

Rosettes used ivory up to the 20's
