This one put me through the grinder and is still not my favourite finish in 2 part Polyurethane ...it is tough in every way. Koa/Cedar and IRW . The body is basically a Guild M20 shape, as woodworm had attacked the Koa and it was the smallest shape I have. Scale is 24.75". 16" radius FB. Bolt on neck. The bracing is just a bit of a guess based on pics Id seen of Trevor's guitars and others and also on my first efforts at doing Chladni. I have no idea whether the chladni shape is relevant but was really just looking for inspiration and having fun. I added two small braces below the UTB to supprt the soundhole, which are not in the pics. The guitar sounds great and I have been playing it alot. In fact I love it which is not always the case.Definitely a keeper. I ended up putting these on flickr as the resize on windows photo still leaves them bigger than (why?) 256KB http://www.flickr.com/photos/61136467@N ... 105375198/ |

Why did you route a recess in the top of the braces? Are the braces laminated? |

Please tell me you built that on vacation. Or do you always have a paradise view from your workshop terrace? |

Barry.the braces are recessed top and bottom and inlaid with unidirectional Carbon Fibre, or at least the ones that look black..the others are just wood... That is actually the view from my bench and I am a very lucky guy I know! |

Quote: spot the doofus error Something wrong with the string spacing on the bridge maybe? On the picture of the soudhole, the low E string seems to be pretty close to the border of the fretboard. But that maybe just the angle of camera. Otherwise I can't see anything. Nice guitar! |

Cha Ching! You got it John! That didnt take long! And they are not symmetrical and leave a pretty little screw hole on display when changed over! This all after I originally made the headstock too thin and had to backstrap it. aah the joys... Alain fortunately the string thing is a camera angle effect...i idid have to scurry off and check ! |

I got so fast because I did it once. I hardly noticed the filled holes anymore in mine. |

Got admiring how pretty the guitar is and the view from your bench, and forgot to look for an error. The Koa looks great!! ![]() |

I often wish that three-a-plate slot head tuner designers would make them reversible... |

If I had a view like that, I'd likely be distracted enough to saw my arm off with a hand saw! ![]() Alex |
