I think this a great way to advertise and I've used it myself. It is a good way to keep your name in front of the customers you are trying to reach.

As for traditional business cards, I still find myself passing out a fair number over the course of a year.

Great idea! Is there some place that makes custom picks, or do you just buy blank ones and print on them yourself some whichaway? Wood picks would be even cooler, but maybe too much work to make and just give out like candy... on the other hand, having a tub of various colored picks sitting on your table at a guitar show would certainly get a lot of people to take one and remember you :)

Great minds think alike Filippo! Or is it fools seldom......

I just placed an order myself for 100 custom picks with my logo on them. I figured I'd put a couple of them with the hang-tag I'm going to put on every guitar I put in the store as both a small thank you to the customer and to help promote the business. I don't think it will hurt.

Dennis - there are quite a few companies out there that will make custom picks for you. I used http://www.claytoncustom.com as they had a great assortment of different pick materials at some of the best prices I could find.

My picks should arrive in about a week - can't wait!

That's a good idea.

I'm always looking for business cards I picked up but I NEVER throw picks away. I throw them in my pick bowl.

I thought of picks too, but so far I've only sold to fingerpickers. So, I'm still doing cards. : (

So what you're saying is that no one will be able to find your business card when they really need one? laughing6-hehe

Way to alienate your fingerstyle and classical customers ;)

New twist on an old idea....I like it! Picks have been used by bands and music stores with advertising for decades, but I've never really thought about it for advertising for guitar builders. Those look great!

My idea is to print a 4 sided nail file or buffing pad for the classical folks - [:Y:]

Fillipo, How does the logo hold up after use? That would be my only concern. If they are like most other picks after a little use the words will be smeared and unreadable or gone. Still a cool idea though. If only embossed picks were cheaply available.

I've used these, and placed them on the backs of cabinets, and underside of tables etc, instead of using my regular business cards.

Somebody was handing out their business card at the Santa Cruz Guitar Co. Christmas party last year. Thick plastic card that had 3-4 punch out picks on it.

Great idea. Now, when the mobs are at my door, agitated because I can't make guitars fast enough, I can toss out a handful of picks to keep them at bay.

I got some as a gift with my logo on them. Unfortunately the logo was only legible on the big triangular picks and I don't think anyone uses those. I put them in the case with new guitars.

I know Tony Karol has used them... they're cool. Standard shape pearloid ... can't tell if it's a heat stamp type print or not. Maybe he'll pipe up with particulars.
