Just got my Grizzly sale catalog and the G0584ZP dust collector is on sale (not a huge discount but nevertheless) and am wondering if anyone has any experience with it. Seems like a lot of DC for that price - 2HP, 1ยต pleated filter, 1700CFM, <$500 shipped. http://www.grizzly.com/products/2HP-Can ... es/G0548ZP |

Andy I have the Canadian version of that from BusyBee Tool. The owner is the brother of the Griz owner. I added an Oneida Super Dust Deputy to it and it works fantastic. Same price as the Griz. Bob |

Thanks Bob. How well did it work before you added the dust deputy? I'm thinking I might buy it as is and then add the DD later but if it's a game changer, perhaps I'll plan on getting both up front. |

I have one of the BusyBee 2hp collectors as well. It works pretty good. I have it connected to one of these http://www.busybeetools.com/products/DU ... LARGE.html on a 55gal drum. I empty the lower bag 3-5 times a year, and thats planing, jointing, routering and sanding 1000+ bf of lumber. I think the Lee Valley separator lid is more efficient than what I have. Alex |

Andy I bought the canister filter and Super Dust Deputy at the same time. Prior to that I just used the bag filter, and it was worthless. Air was always full of dust. Since adding the canister and SDD, nothing goes into the catch bag, and everything goes into the 35gal. barrel the SDD is mounted on. No dust in the shop air now. Alex I have one of those lids from Lee Valley, but never did use it. Bob |

Thanks Bob. Sounds like I'll have to budget about $800 for it rather than $500 but, it's still cheaper by hundreds to the out of the box cyclone solutions. I'm thinking that with 1700CFM I could run 6" ducts and have plenty of flow at the machines. |
