Previously, if you posted a large image, it would display a smaller image that you could click on to see the larger image. Now images are always displayed in actual size which can be cumbersome. Anyone know? Kevin Looker |

Lance changed a setting in the forum software a few weeks ago. I don't remember how the decision was made to do it, but it is indeed annoying when people post photos straight off their camera. Nice when they're all sized appropriately though, not to have to click on them. I wonder if there's a setting to reject images over 1024 pixels wide? |

Ok, I see this is going to be a subjective matter. Personally, I like the old way which gave the best of both worlds IMO. I think it also made it easier for users who don't know how to resize photos. I agree that it's annoying waiting for large photos to load when browsing a thread but at times I like high res photos when looking at details. Just my $0.02 Kevin Looker |

Yep yep! There have been a few threads lately where I would have to scroll sideways to read posts because the images were way too large. Life is too short to scroll sideways, so I simply skipped those threads.... Perhaps one of y'all needs to ask Lance to revert whatever setting it was that he changed. |

Those who are horizontal-scroll resistant, may find it less distracting if you click on "print view" in the thread toolbar. This removes the left-hand margin/Author pane, enabling full screen width for image/text viewing. |

Lance acted on a comment I think Fillippo made in one of my threads where I was asking how to embed photos into the text of one's post. Fillippo said perhaps the thumbnail size could be increased...which Lance did. Since then I figured out how to embed the photos the way I originally wanted. So....don't let me stand in anyone's way switching it back. ![]() |

Yep, that was a solution where no problem existed! I know Fillippo prefers to embed large pics, (rather than smaller versions as attachments, which makes his threads ridiculously slow to load & unfortunately causes me to ignore many of them). For the life of me, I can't see what was wrong with the original intent of uploading images as attachments, generating a 200 pixel thumbnail, any of which you could click on for the full sized picture .... made perfect sense! |

If I remember correctly, Lance made an adjustment that turned off auto-thumbnails. There was also an option to dictate thumbnail size. 800px wide thumbs would be sufficient for most screens. I think it's just a matter of going into the preferences and fiddling around until he finds a result he's happy with. I agree that the full size images are a bear. |

Maybe there is a way here like on other sites where the image can be shown in a small size like more of a thumbnail and when you click on it then it will open larger in your browser....Mike |
