I'm trying to followup on a Swap-a-palooza purchase but haven't had any luck contacting him through the forum. Maybe he is sick or away or something?

Grant if you see this please check your PMs.

Thanks

Josh

Maybe try over at Luthiercom.org. I know he hangs out there sometimes.

It's a hit or miss. I bought some wood for him in the past and needed some things cleared up after the purchase. I've tried to reach him via email and lithiercom for months after that purchase without any response. I gave up a long time ago. I'm not sure what goes on in his personal life and would love to buy my cocobolo from him but I don't think that'll ever happen. Good luck and hope you hear from him soon

He is admin at luthiercom.org and is there pretty frequently...sent messages stay in your inbox until they are seen by the person you sent them to...i.e. it's easy to tell he got your message, and it is also easy to figure out the last time he logged on (which was Thu May 09, 2013 10:10 pm as of this writing)...

the point being he obviously has the time to log on, make some posts, and whatever...

Yeah all I'm saying is he's hard to reach and that's just from personal experience. I've posted on his active sale threads along with PMs and email with no response. It's actually been over a year since I tried to get a hold of him. Maybe I'm doing something wrong, who knows. Keep at it, I'm sure he'll reach back out to ya! Best of luck

oh, trust me, I'm on your side of things...he's there, he's alive, he's obviously for whatever reason ignoring us...

As I have gotten to know him, by purchasing numerous sets of his beautiful cocobolo and other exotics over many years, and by communication on and off the web, he is a man with several irons in the fire at all times. He does have a huge stash of wood, and the prices are good, but sometimes you will have to wait, if he is busy with some other project... My experience is that he keeps his word though, and you will get what you ordered, eventually. The expression "fast, good or cheap, pick any two" comes to mind ;)

mountain of wood without a doubt...dig through these pictures: http://smg.photobucket.com/user/whitesp ... t=3&page=1 ...any lover of cocobolo ought to be drooling at some of those sets/billets...

Exactly mike! Some amazing stuff, and he was a very cool guy when he actually responded. I wonder what's behind the evasiveness. We all share a passion and he seems to be happy selling some of his wood and we enjoy buying it. It becomes kind of hard though if you never respond to potential customers. I though he was going to be my cocobolo source when I got to talking to him!

Grant has many things going on, and 'wood supplier' is just a hobby, more or less. His regular job can take him away from home for long periods of time, so if you want to deal with him, you have to keep this in mind. If you're willing to work with him on this basis, you can get some excellent buys.

in my book when a person agrees to sell you something then reneges it is simply unacceptable, and apparently in this case it is fairly 'normal'

[:Y:] well put. If you put yourself out there as a seller and then after a sale or two start ignoring your customer, something is wrong, regardless of what kind of a person you are. I know Grant is a great guy but the ignoring part of his business tactics doesn't make any sense to me. As a matter of fact, it's shameful. Like I said, over a year without a reply to me after numerous attempts. Grant if you see this, please consider some of the things said here.

Grant is certainly man enough to speak for himself, but you guys are really impatient! He does have a real job that takes him away from home, and now is about the time it starts getting hot and heavy. Not to mention his other businesses and activities. He's a pretty active guy, and things take a while, sometimes.

Waddy, if you read what I mentioned, you'll see that one I understand he's busy and two, I know he's a great guy. But come on, when you obviously ignore someone, that speaks for itself. I'm talking over a year!

No doubt he has great wood, and at first he responded to me immediately. Somehow that changed. Now the only reason I even brought this up was because the OP asked if anyone has heard from him recently and so I thought I'd share my experience. Now that the OP has obviously recieved an answer, we all can move on to taking about and building guitars.

I am bringing this back up since I can not reach Grant Goltz. I have been trying for over a month to contact him about some top sets I purchased from him on March 15. Still waiting. Hope he's OK.

Anyone had any contact lately?

Chuck
