I'm planning my next project, an all mahogany 12 string with modern/electric aesthetics. I had been thinking I wanted to bleach the mahogany. Think TV yellow. Recently, primavera seems to be available, and is billed as "white mahogany". Perhaps I could skip a step and just use it instead?

Does anyone have anything to say about this wood? How's the stiffness?? Enough to work for a top?

There's about a 75% chance I'll use a trapeze bridge.

i use it for B/S's. never thought of it as a top wood -could work out nice i suppose. it's lighter then hog for sure and stiffness is on par. tap tone is deeper which is nice. work ability wise the interlocking grain can be a bit tougher to deal with but you get used to it. give it a try

Thanks! If it's lighter than hog but with similar stiffness, then it's definitely promising. I guess I'll be the first on my block to try it.
