I wanted to log in and say hello to everyone, it has been a while since I have visited the forum. I'm very busy in the shop, and I don't have much time to participate online, unless I'm trying to sell something. I hope everyone is well, and are selling what you are building. The economy seems to be picking up on custom guitars. I'm trying not to buy too much wood for future stock, only what I need for immediate building. If anyone has a box full of stiff brace-wood spruce they would like to unload, give me a shout. sincerely, Dave. |

Thanks guys. Have you seen about the new book coming out about Martin Ukuleles by Tom Walsh? How Martin survived and thrived on ukes in the 20's & 30's, enough to build the bigger shop? That's the way I feel... guitars slowed down and ukes picked up big time, (I can blow through ukes) and now guitars are edging back in. You know all those guitar cut-offs that Luthiers can't stand to throw away? Guess what they are perfect for? I'm so blessed in the shop, I wake up every morning and can't wait to get going. |
