What is the best way you have found to remove the white steam tracks around the fretboard extension on a vintage sunburst finish. I know the best way is to not let it happen, but sometimes I acquire a project that already has the neck removed. Any tricks you want to share? James |

I wipe the surface with denatured alcohol. Don't flood the surface or wipe back and forth. Alcohol can soften the lacquer, so be careful. The lacquer will harden back in a short time, and any residual blushing that is brought to the surface can be polished off. |
