I have a beautiful set of Tineo (Indian Applewood / Weinmannia trichosperma I believe), very rare in acoustic guitar sizes, although apparently sometimes used for bass neck laminations. Information is sparse on the net concerning bending properties (steam bending) for this species, and it seems to be stiff and brittle. Does anyone here have any experience with it, or know of it being used for acoustics? |

Hey Colin, not of much help I'm afraid, but can you post some pics of it? I'm curious... Here we call Indian appletree to jujuba (Ziziphus jujuba), which has a very beautiful creamy wood. It comes from Asia, though. |

Miguel, I stickered the wood and can't really dig it out just now, but here's a pic of some with similar stripes (the darker ones) to mine. |

I see thistle 3585 posted a reply saying he had major problems. I couldn't see the picture of the wood he was tying to bend (I'm not registered) - is it similar to above pic I posted? |

Colin: Mine looks very much like the picture you posted. The picture that thistle put up looks very different. I have more of of this and will certainly build with it again. David |
