Thanks, ill be posting more pics soon but I decided to stay on the couch and watch football instead of going into the shop today!

Forget the football. Just a bunch of guys giving each other head trauma.

(Truth is I still like it, but keep it quite, huh? I'm in the closet now)

Got more work done and more pics. Top bracing, side assembly and gluing on the top. The sides have solid linings on the top and the over sized section is to reinforce the arm rest bevel

A classical I see. I sure like your method of using the locating pins with the mold when go-barring the top in place. Very nice. I imagine you do the back in a similar fashion. I just might adapt it and someday call it my own. bliss

I do the back the same after the top has been voiced. The steel pins are nice to keep everything lined up. Metal bushings in the mold will make the whole thing real tight.
I just glued the back tonight and will be binding tomorrow so more pics soon

Long overdue update,
Neck made and set, body and bevel bound and scraped
Finishing is next

I like that. Bolt on neck?

Author:  uvh sam [ Wed Oct 30, 2013 8:40 pm ]
Post subject:  Re: Sam Guidry eng./brazilian build

Yeah bolt on with two bolts in the heel then one to hold down the tongue
I love it cause I can take the neck on and off easily, makes finishing easy and I can switch the neck out if it's ever necessary

ooh….very tasty! Love your assistant :)

How did you route the armrest bevel?

Post subject:  Re: Sam Guidry eng./brazilian build

I layout with a template then cut with Dremel and some custom made bent chisels then chisel the bevel

I love the rosette and how you echoed the burl in the tie-block. Amazingly beautiful and can't wait to hear it!
