Got myself a beautiful Wenge B/S set with amazing grain figure but I'm not sure what temp. to use to bend the sides. I have a Fox style bender with temp. control. Anyone worked with this stuff? Bill S. |

I bend everything at 275-295*F. |

Hi Bill, same as Tony for me. I just finished a wenge guitar and really enjoyed the build. I've actually just posted some pics of the finished guitar and some sound clips. I used an Englemann spruce top and the sound is phenomenal. There are a few things to note about wenge - 1) it's pores are the size of craters - you'll spend some time pore filling before spraying. I used Zpoxy and it worked really well. 2) watch out for the splinters! it's a fairly splintery wood so have a pair of tweezers handy. I really didn't have any problems bending my set, but it had straight grain. It seemed to bend like butter for me. |

Thanks Guys..I've also read that the splinters and the dust can cause some health hazards. Bill S. |

Yeah the splinters can have the tendency to get infected more so then other woods and the dust is a major irritant. |
