Thank you for your interest. I will post more pictures and perhaps I can manage to post a video. I am not so experienced with videos and internet...i am more of a wood guy, you know ;)

Yes, the saw, the silding table, the de-barking machine, the hall, the architekt, the grading line behind, all together 2.3 million euro.

Some facts: the sliding table, when sliding back accelartes as fast as a Porsche 911, or a Dodge Viper....everything is Laser controlled. You have like 10 screens in the operater-room, a joysticck...looks like an airplane.

Basically you put in a log at one side, and a few seconds later you get precisious resawn lumber, graded, stacked....

BUT, you can even resaw venners (aka tonewood) with a kerf smaller than a tabelsaw blade, a surface like sanded, out of logs with diameter up to 5 or 6 feet, so really big logs.

The wheel diameter measurement on that Bandsaw is quite a bit greater than the height of my entire Bandsaw (less frame stand).

Mind you a bandsaw that size is more of a lumbermill. It's primarily used for breaking up logs, although a sawmizer will do more or less the same thing (maybe not on 15 foot logs) in a more portable package. I have seen similar (but much smaller) bandsaws at the lumberyard I got the african blackwood from. They use a motorized carriage to move the log to cut them. The floor of the shop is usually recessed, as is the motorized carriage so that the finished wood can be taken from ground level (instead of requiring a boom lift waiting beside the saw).

Is there any reason why you'd prefer spending millions of euros on a brand new sawmill rather than buy used? I have seen plenty of 30+ inch bandsaws sold out there at fairly decent price (under 2000 dollars) simply because too few people would actually need them. However the problem is they wouldn't fit into an average garage. I'm not even sure a 26" bandsaw would fit either...

I know the OP has told me to not put anymore money/effort into my relatively lightweight 18" bandsaw because I won't change it, but by that logic wouldn't it be pointless to put lots of money and effort into Delta 14" cast iron clones? They can't tension anything above 1/2" yet people put so much money into aftermarket fence, guides, tension spring/rod/mechanism, wheels (sometimes), motors, etc. that by the time they're done they could have bought a decent (though not the best) Grizzly 17-19" bandsaw that would have been more suited for resawing. I've looked at a used 26" bandsaw before but the only reason I never got it was because I was afraid its weight and size would mean that I could never get it into my shop at all. Plus I don't know if it's true but larger bandsaws are not so good with scroll cuts... at least it would be such a big job changing blades that I'm not sure you'd want to.
