I will be finishing up my 3rd guitar in the next couple of weeks and looking ahead to what's next. I have learned a lot over the last 18 months but want to take some time to immerse myself to learn more about the craft. Considering taking Sergei De Jong's 5 week course this year and am interested to hear from folks that have taken it..... |

Sergei is the real deal, a bare-knuckles-no-excuses luthier. Take the opportunity to learn from him if you can. |

I got my start as a luthier with Sergie's course 10 years ago. It gave me a good foundation to build on. Josh |

I also got my start with Sergei. He gives a great perspective that allows for common sense building- not a lot of fancy, expensive fixtures. The jigs and fixture you do use can easily be made at home (for the most part) and are pretty straight forward. I took hundreds of photos and 30+ pages of notes that I still reference to this day. Without them, I would probably still be in the dark. I highly recommend his course. |
