The fingerboard fell off and there seems to be a small gap in the heel....

The gap is there by design , it is a dovetail joint . This looks like it has been overly stressed by Humidity or soaked in water. |

There does appear to many issues here. Lots of moisture for sure and is the action really that high? I'm with Alex, an emergency canoe paddle or perhaps a planter box with a story |

I've seen this a few times before. The most likely cause is that the luthier used 150 gram strength hide glue instead of 192. The heel crack should buff right out. |
